1. Local-First Data Principle

UlarBox is designed as a local-first application. This means:

• No Cloud Storage: All your files, metadata, and document properties are stored locally on your device in a secure SQLite database.
• No Data Transmission: We do not transmit your files or metadata to any external servers.
• You Own Your Data: You have complete control over your data. We cannot access, read, or modify your files or the information you organize within the app.

2. Information Collection and Use

Personal Information

UlarBox does not require you to provide any personal information (such as name, email, or address) to use its core features. We do not collect any personally identifiable information (PII).

Technical Data

To ensure app stability and improve performance, we may collect minimal, non-identifying technical logs locally on your machine. These logs are never automatically sent to us.

Analytics

UlarBox does not integrate any third-party analytics or advertising SDKs. We do not track your usage across apps or websites.

3. Third-Party Services

UlarBox does not share your data with any third-party services. If you use the MCP (Model Context Protocol) or AI Agent features, data processing occurs through the connections you explicitly configure and authorize.

4. App Store Purchases

If you upgrade to the Pro version through the Mac App Store, your purchase information is handled securely by Apple. We do not have access to your credit card details or billing address.

5. Security

Because your data never leaves your device, it is protected by your own system's security measures. We recommend keeping your operating system up to date and using standard security practices.

6. Children's Privacy

UlarBox is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

Because all UlarBox data is stored locally, removing your data is entirely under your control: deleting documents within the app, removing the app's sandbox container, or uninstalling the app from your device will remove the corresponding local data. We do not retain copies on any server.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Effective Date."
